I have been trying to dip in to the world of preschool blogging for a while now but haven’t been able to find too much. Well today is the day it happened and i’m so excited!

I just got moved into a four year old classroom and so far I have been loving it. I can do so much with the kids and they really are learning. I’m in a church ministry and we take the summer off from academics and are outside a lot.  I’m trying to look around at the blogs and see how summer goes for preschool teachers and when they start planning for the school year and what not. I’m going to try to put that in this blog as well so we’ll see how that goes.

To give you a little background on myself my name is Angie and I am in my third year teaching. I have my Associates degree in Early Childhood Education from a college here in Indiana and was lucky enough to get my job a few months out of college and was there from August 2007 to June 2009. I learned a lot those 2 and a half years I was there. I learned what to do and what not to do. I learned what was right and what was wrong. I learned what age groups I love and what age groups I don’t love. I was asked to leave that center. My co-teacher could not work with me and convinced my boss to let me go. Yes, I had my faults but I don’t think they were on the level of letting me go. A lot of the parents were upset when I left and my director made it seem like I decided it was my time to move on.

I am now at a Christian ministry daycare and I am absolutley loving it. I am with young fours and i’m able to do so much with them. This has been the happiest i’ve been with at any place and I’ve worked with pretty much all the ages. I love my job and i’m excited to plan for the fall and school year to see what I can come up with. I feel like this age is home for me.

Let me tell you a little about me personally. I’m 24 years old and graduated college 3 years ago. I live with my roommate from college in an apartment but will be moving home with  my parents when she gets married at the end of july.

I have a mom, dad, brother, and sister-in-law (who will most likely be mentioned in the blog once in a while). Dad is lead maintenance guy at my high school back home, mom is the infant teacher at the learning center that we work at, brother is a 5th grade teacher and sister-in-law is a 1st grade teacher. They are lookin’ for new jobs though because the school corp they are in just did a budget cut and they both got pink slipped. So pretty much a family full of teachers. My best friend also works in the infant room with my mom and she’ll probably be mentioned in the blog as well.

I’m very excited to keep up on the blogs that I have found and hopefully can add insite to my blog as well. It might take a while but hopefully I get the hang out this thing.
